RESILIENCE

Let us take a quick look at the painted story of two co-workers, Jimi and Tony (not real names) who suffered a similar career mishap as a result of an unexpected setback that hit their organization. They felt bad, thrown into serious confusion and lost clue on how to regain their stability.

After a while, Jimi encouraged himself with an assurance that he knows his worth, and knows what he is capable of doing, regardless of what his organization is facing. He decided against all odds to improve on himself, by adding quality values and expertise that will make him stand the test of a hard time and become outstanding. He did exactly what he thought will reposition him for better opportunities and he did not fail to keep adding value to his present organisation with his newly acquired knowledge and skills.

Tony on the other hand decided to give up on exploring new ways to forge ahead as he could not see any reason to do so.
After some time, Jimi’s decision and determination to reposition himself for better opportunities paid off. He scaled through the hurdles, and rose to the top level in his career, while Tony was still at the edge of indecision and remained stagnant.

Jimi and Tony experienced the same stroke of difficulties at a point in their career, but Jimi’s approach to challenges made the difference.
Resilience is what made the difference. Live is full of ups and down but a resilient person will thrive even in the most difficult situation. Resilience is a person’s ability to recover from the misfortunes and pressures of daily life.

No matter what you do, you can build resilience. You have to develop it to boost your ability to cope, thrive and flourish in this ever-changing world.
Challenges are inevitably part of life but your approach to it is what makes the difference.

Here are two suggested ways to help you fill up your cup of resilience.
1.Be optimistic: Never allow defeat so quickly. Work at what you want, and stop worrying about things that are not working.
2.Focus on your strength: do not ignore your weakness without seeking to improve, but focus on your strength. In other words, work to minimize your weaknesses and do more in your area of strength as wrong investment of effort can be very draining.

Resilience is not a passive quality, but an active process. How we approach life, and everything it throws at us, has a massive impact on our ability to win more grounds.
Stay resilient.
